Vicar Street is a 3-bedroom flat sleeping 7 plus a cot at 56A Vicar Street, Falkirk (FK1 1JB), on the first floor of a Grade B listed building dating to 1902. Heart-of-town-centre location with a one-minute walk to Falkirk Grahamston train station — direct trains to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Stirling in 25–30 minutes. Two bedrooms set up as work-from-stay rooms with desks. Five supermarkets and a full set of cafes, pubs, and restaurants within five minutes' walk. Pet-friendly. Self check-in. From £140/night.

Vicar Street works for two distinct audiences with the same building doing the work for both. The first is travellers who want to base in central Scotland without driving anywhere — tourists doing Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Stirling on day trips, family visitors on weekend breaks, couples in for a weekend of cafes and pubs. Falkirk Grahamston train station is one minute's walk from the front door. From there, direct trains reach all three Scottish cities in 25–30 minutes; the Kelpies and Helix Park are six minutes by bus or ten by foot. No car is needed for any of it.

The second audience is solo work-stay professionals and small project teams who want a town-centre base for short-rotation work in central Scotland. Two of the three bedrooms are set up as work-from-stay rooms with desks, chairs, and HDMI-ready TVs. WiFi is 100 Mbps and reaches the whole flat. Self check-in via smart lock for shift workers and late arrivals. Five supermarkets within five minutes' walk for crew breakfasts; a full set of cafes (Costa, Nero, Starbucks, Acoustic, Finnegans) for laptop-and-coffee mornings; pubs and takeaways for end-of-shift dinners. The Grahamston station puts INEOS Grangemouth, Stirling, Edinburgh, and Glasgow all within thirty minutes by direct train.

The building itself is the third reason to book. 56A Vicar Street is on the first floor of a Grade B listed sandstone building from 1902, with the period features that designation implies — high ceilings, decorative cornicing, marble fireplaces, tall sash windows, original interior doors. The flat has been thoughtfully furnished to make modern use of the heritage shell rather than fight it: clean wooden floors, mustard and teal accents, period mirrors, and a working layout for a family or a small crew. £140 a night for the whole flat works out at £20 per person per night at full occupancy of seven.

Eating, drinking, and shopping — all within a five-minute walk

Common questions — for tourists and family visitors

How easy is it to do day trips to Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Stirling from Vicar Street?

+

Easier than from almost any other holiday-let base in central Scotland. Falkirk Grahamston station is one minute’s walk from the flat. Direct trains take around 30 minutes to Edinburgh Waverley, 30 minutes to Glasgow Queen Street, and 25 minutes to Stirling. You can do all three in a single week without renting a car — which most central Scotland holiday-lets effectively require.

How many people sleep at Vicar Street, and how are the bedrooms configured?

+

Up to 7 guests plus a baby in the cot. Master bedroom: king bed plus cot, ensuite, faces the main road. Second bedroom: triple bunk bed (king at the bottom, single on top), faces the rear car park, with the family bathroom across the hall. Third bedroom: queen bed, faces the rear car park, tucked behind the kitchen.

Are pets welcome at Vicar Street?

+

Yes — mindful pet owners welcome. Please keep dogs off bedroom beds. The flat is on the first floor with stairs to street level; once outside, Callendar Park is a 15-minute walk and the Helix Park is a short bus ride for proper exercise.

Can the cot be removed if it’s not needed?

+

Let us know at booking and we can move the cot out for guests who don’t need it. The master bedroom is comfortably large for two adults without it.

What about noise — is the flat quiet at night?

+

Honestly: not always. The flat is in the centre of Falkirk with pubs and cafes nearby, and there can be noise until late at night, particularly on Saturday nights. The master and second bedrooms face main road and rear car park respectively; the third bedroom is the quietest. We mention this transparently because it matters — if you’re a light sleeper, this is a relevant consideration. If you’re happy with town-centre energy, it’s a feature, not a bug.

Common questions — for work-stay professionals and project teams

Is Vicar Street suitable for work-stay professionals working at INEOS Grangemouth, Stirling, or Forth Valley College?

+

Yes — it works well for solo work-stay professionals and small project teams (1–7 guests). Falkirk Grahamston station is one minute’s walk and direct trains reach Stirling University in 25 minutes; Earlsgate Distribution Centre is around 10 minutes by bus or drive; Forth Valley College is a 15-minute walk. INEOS Grangemouth is about 25 minutes door-to-site by train and short bus or drive at the other end. Two of the three bedrooms are set up as work-from-stay rooms with desks, and WiFi is 100 Mbps.

Is there parking for a car or van?

+

One parking space is available at the rear of the building, but access is restricted (through a barrier at the back of the building, off the public car park) and must be requested in advance at booking. For Transit-sized vans, we’d recommend the paid public car parks immediately around the flat — the rear access is narrow.

Can I work from the flat?

+

Two of the three bedrooms (master and third) have purposeful work desks and chairs. WiFi is 100 Mbps and reaches the whole flat. The dining table seats six and works as a meeting setup if a small project team needs to work in the same room.

Do you provide VAT invoices for expense claims?

+

Yes. VAT-compliant invoices on request, with company name, dates, and amount. Email bookings@kaulgroup.co.uk with your booking reference and we’ll send the invoice the same day.

What’s the rate for a week-long or month-long work-stay booking?

+

Discounted weekly and monthly rates available on direct enquiry to bookings@kaulgroup.co.uk. Send your dates, group size, and project details and we’ll quote direct.

How does check-in work?

+

Self check-in via smart lock at the building front door, plus a regular key for the flat. We send a unique code 24 hours before arrival; the door is yours from 4pm. Late arrivals are welcome — the code works around the clock.

Is the flat suitable for guests with limited mobility?

+

No — the flat is on the first floor of a heritage building, accessed via two flights of nine steps each (18 steps total) with no lift. Once inside the flat itself, the layout is single-floor.

What’s the cancellation policy?

+

Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival. Within 7 days, the booking is non-refundable but transferable to another date in the same calendar year, subject to availability.

“A beautiful flat that is very close to the train station. We enjoyed our two nights there and the accommodations were very comfortable. Akshita thoughtfully checked in with us and was quick to respond to our question. I would definitely rebook when in the area.”
Allison · April 2026 · 5/5 · Group trip
“The convenience of the location can’t be beat — a very short walk from the Falkirk Grahamston train station. It’s on a busy street and right by a major roundabout with a lot of traffic, and we were warned of this in advance, but although there was a lot of traffic noise during the day, it was fairly quiet overnight and didn’t affect our sleep very much. The rooms were fairly large, except for the kitchen, which was small but usable. There are plenty of places to eat very close by.”
John · February 2026 · 4/5 · Group trip
“Very nice stay and good location, just a little noisy surrounding the property with it being in the town centre and neighbours could be noisy however a nice clean flat and spacious.”
